
Wudinna is centrally located on the Eyre Highway, Central Eyre Peninsula, with easy access to the spectacular Gawler Ranges, the rugged coastal areas and surf beaches, unusual granite rock formations, conservation parks and interesting 4WD trails.
Wudinna is a small, rural community situated 693km east of the SA/WA border and 580km west of Adelaide. With a town population of around 600 people, it has developed to become an important service area for Central Eyre Peninsula.
There are many services within the town, including a Bank, Hotel, Community/Sports Club, Service Stations, Supermarket, Telecentre, Coffee Shop, Bakery, Electrician, Area School, TAFE, Hairdresser, Chemist and Gift Store, Post Office, Butchers, Tyre and Garage Services and four rural merchandising outlets. Wudinna also boasts a modern Hospital with ambulance and air ambulance service, a Doctor's Surgery, SES and a local Country Fire Service.

Polda Rock Recreational Reserve - located 7kms from Wudinna (on the way to Mt Wudinna) this reserve has recently been renovated to include shelters, BBQ, picnic and toilet facilities as well as an interesting walking trail. This site is of great interest to bird watchers. A project has recently been completed to make use of water catchment from Polda and nearby Mt Wudinna. This water will be pumped into the township of Wudinna for use in town beautification and sports ovals.

Ucontitchie Hill - 32kms south of Wudinna, this rock is of international geological significance. The rock stands in complete isolation and can be seen for several tens of kilometres around. Attractions at nearby Minnipa Pildappa Rock is an isolated granite inselberg, approximately 15kms north of Minnipa. The spectacular wave-like formations are thought to rival that of 'Wave Rock' in WA. Picnic, toilet and BBQ facilities are available to the public free of charge. Camping is permitted in the grounds. Tcharkulda Rock, is located 6kms east of Minnipa on Bockelberg Road, and is a massive granite outcrop featuring the largest and most spectacular tafoni and boulders in the district. The area has been conserved as an attractive public picnic and recreational area. | |
